As many throughout the world celebrate Mother’s Day this month, we share our appreciation for ALL women who love, rear, and nurture the rising generation. I’m reminded of a poem my mother wrote, which I can’t locate, that spoke of one of her children writing “MOM” on a card or letter. From my mom’s vantage point, however, it seemed to read, “WOW!” I believe part of the mission of Big Ocean Women is to celebrate and elevate the “WOW” factor of women. Our authors have done so superbly this month.

Founder Carolina Allen defines and expounds on our unique nature and biology which make us more powerful, in different ways, than the world’s view. Lisa teaches about the “WOW” power that explodes when two of our WAVEs form a sister relationship that lifts and blesses each group, and Emily shares strategies she used to broaden her perspective of maternal feminism in the midst of life challenges. Alma and Shelli both wax poetic by describing the beauty found in tenderness and creating life, and I share a real-life example of the influence of a mother on her son and his associates.

We now invite you to add your “WOW”–in quiet or boisterous ways–to Carolina’s transforming and soul-satisfying conclusion that the future of feminism is maternal and always has been. WOW!
