I have to admit, this month’s tenet, “We work in partnership with our global sisters to create generative solutions,” was pretty overwhelming to me and seemed completely beyond my skillset. But after reading the articles written with this tenet in mind, I realized that I don’t necessarily have to be the one to come up with the ideas. I can use my talents or resources to contribute to great ideas that others have developed. I believe this means we can all contribute somehow to helping the needs we see. Norma follows up with an immigrant family one year later. Michelle encourages us to join together in helping others in our global sisterhood. Ann introduces us to Sweeta Hashemi and her efforts to help other immigrants assimilate into their new environment. Lisa gives us ideas on spreading light in our communities. Shelli gives us a new perspective on how to view our current circumstances.
And Pat introduces us to the “Penny Plan,” a great way to contribute to a fund for Nigerian girls to attend school.
