“I alone cannot change the world, but I can cast a stone across the waters to create many ripples.”

–Mother Teresa

Each of us has the ability to create a powerful impact. For some, like Mother Teresa, that impact will be seen far and wide. For most of us, the impact will be smaller (though no less powerful). Our articles about this month’s tenet, “We believe in the Model of a Powerful Impact,” explore the different ways that we see these examples and the ways we can powerfully impact the world around us.

We see examples of powerfully-impactful people in Norma’s experience at Normandy, and in Ann’s description of Susan Roylance. Katrina describes the ways different small acts influenced her life, and Kaylee tells of a time she saw the powerful impact of another reach all the way to the Amazon. Tricia brings readers through a reflective exercise, increasing awareness of our True Selves. Shelli’s analogy of sourdough bread teaches us how our own experiences and stories can be carried on to others, and Micki describes how she is allowing herself to take up space in the world

This month, as we generally focus on being thankful, I hope we can all find ways to spread our impact. Whether it is by contributing to Giving Tuesday, welcoming others into our homes, or spreading influence in our unique ways, each act has the potential to create a powerful impact.
